Pencil Art
Specializing in Wildlife and Pet Portraiture
Living in Africa gives one many opportunities to explore the abundant wildlife that graces our many grasslands, wetlands, thorn-veld and ocean shores. My journey with pencil art was a natural progression from a love of photography as I found myself attracted to capturing the details of creation. The incredible persistence of a dung-beetle as it moves its ball of dung across a landscape, the baleful stare of a buffalo, the comical meerkats as they skitter around a termite mound – so many facets of life, unique and intricate in their environments.
Starting off with graphite only, I have moved on to colour pencils and some charcoal work and pastel pencils.
